Experience
Melissa is a native
Houstonian who received her bachelor’s degree from the University
of Houston before attending Rutgers School of Law.
At Rutgers, Melissa had the unique opportunity to study law
abroad under the late Supreme Court Chief Justice, William H.
Rehnquist. During her
second year, Melissa was a member of the Jessup International Moot
Court Team. As a third
year law student, Melissa was selected to be a member of the Vis
International Commercial Arbitration Team, which traveled to Vienna,
Austria to compete with schools from around the world.
After law school, Melissa clerked for the Honorable Thomas S.
Smith, Jr. in New Jersey. She later practiced bankruptcy law for a large consumer law
firm. Currently,
Melissa is enrolled in the LL.M. Program in Taxation at the
University of Houston Law Center, focusing on Estate Planning and
Corporate Taxation & Restructuring.

Since being admitted to practice, Jérémie has worked as a
corporate and securities consultant and on numerous white collar
criminal investigations in both Washington, DC and Houston,
TX. During law school, he participated in the Jessup
International Moot Court Competition, volunteered for the Camden
Pro Bono Bankruptcy Project, and served as Lead Technical
Editor of the Rutgers Journal of Law & Religion.
After law school, he served as law clerk to the Honorable Alexandro C. Castro,
Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of the Northern Mariana
Islands.
